The Predator Course
The 1991 original by Canmore architect Les Furber, par 71 and 7,034 yards from the back tees (per the resort, 2026). Rolling fairways, native fescue and multi-tiered greens that reward a patient putter. Its signature 14th is a sweeping dogleg-right par 5 with a pond running toward the green.

Doug Carrick's 2010 design, par 72 and 7,128 yards (per the resort, 2026), with granite outcrops, long scenic fairways and lake views. It was named SCOREGolf's Best New Course in Canada in its first season and sits at #24 on SCOREGolf's 2026 Top 100 in Canada.

What it's actually like to own a golf home at Predator Ridge
Predator Ridge is a 1,300-acre resort community (the resort's figure) inside City of Vernon limits, south-west of downtown off Commonage Road. Neighbourhoods have been added in phases since Falcon Point broke ground in 1999, and the newest, Ellison Landing, is selling now. Homes range from strata cottages and townhomes to custom houses on fairway lots.
A few things make it different from buying a golf home almost anywhere else in B.C.:
- It's exempt from the speculation and vacancy tax. Vernon is a taxable area, but the province states that "the Predator Ridge resort in the City of Vernon is not part of the taxable areas." That matters to part-time owners. (gov.bc.ca)
- Short-term rental rules are narrower than people think. Accommodations managed by the resort's own rental program count as legal short-term rentals. That does not mean any private home can go on Airbnb. Read the details.
- Golf membership is separate from owning a home. A Homeowner Membership exists, but it's optional and priced separately. The resort doesn't publish prices.
- It's about 20 minutes to Vernon services, including Vernon Jubilee Hospital and the schools, and roughly half an hour to the airport.
